1. POLICY STATEMENT

The following LSR Colombo Marathon Privacy Policy must be followed by all athletes and event-related personnel participating in the LSR Colombo Marathon.

2. KEY PURPOSE

The purpose of this privacy policy is to minimize risks associated with the Event of LSR Colombo Marathon for all athletes and event-related personnel.

3. SCOPE

This policy applies to all athletes and event-related personnel participating or providing service support for the LSR Colombo Marathon Event.

All users must read, understand, and comply with this Privacy Policy.

4. POLICY

4.1 Information Collecting from Race Registrants

During registration, LSR collects, uses, and stores personal data according to this Privacy Policy.

Data Types:

  1. Identity Data – Full Name, Date of Birth, Gender
  2. Contact Data – Telephone Number, Address, Email Address
  3. Transaction Data – Payment details and purchased services
  4. Profile Data – Username, password, orders, preferences, feedback, browsing behavior
  5. Usage Data – Website, product, and service usage information
  6. Marketing & Communications Data – Service usage analytics for future improvements

LSR Colombo Marathon will not sell, distribute, or lease member information to third parties except as stated in this policy.

Security:

  • Website security measures are implemented.
  • Personal data transmission is encrypted.
  • Credit card information is not stored in-house.

4.2 Event Participants Health and Other Conditions
  • Athletes must certify fitness and voluntarily accept all risks.
  • Organizers and sponsors are not liable for injuries, damages, or death.
  • Minimum participant age: 15 years.

Medical Requirement:
Participants above 50 years, Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and Fun Runs must submit:

  • Medical Certificate
  • Doctor certified within 2 weeks before event

Documents must be submitted at registration event.

4.3 Cancellation of Participation

LSR Colombo Marathon Management reserves rights to:

  • Cancel
  • Delay
  • Disqualify participants or personnel

With or without prior notice due to misconduct, breach of trust, or policy violations.

4.4 Event Winners with Prizes, Medals and Certificates

Participants can create:

  • Individual
  • Company
  • Institution
  • Club
  • School profiles

Winners can collect:

  • Medals
  • Certificates
  • Prizes

At Prize Giving Event.

4.6 LSR Colombo Marathon Event Etiquettes
  • Follow race officials and emergency personnel instructions.
  • Arrive before 5:30 AM with Bib Numbers displayed.
  • Failure to obey instructions may result in disqualification or future ban.
  • No animals allowed.
  • Unauthorized drugs prohibited.
  • Disabled athletes must inform organizers before registration.
  • No refunds or transfers for cancellations due to uncontrollable events.
  • Athletes must wear appropriate clean clothing.
  • Management reserves final decision rights and policy amendments.
